<p>Position Description:<br />
<br />This is a full-time faculty position, beginning July 1, 2011. Salary is commensurate with experience and degree held at the time of appointment. The Director of the Library is the chief administrative officer of the library and is responsible for overall leadership and management, from strategic planning to daily operations. Will cultivate and promote library resources and services; develop and manage staff and budget; collaborate with University leadership, faculty, donors and other internal and external constituents. Expertise with regional accreditation processes, and identifying and implementing technologies are particularly valued.</p>
<p>Qualifications:<br />
<br />All candidates must have an ALA accredited MLS degree; superior candidates will also have an advanced degree in a field of study that complements the academic offerings of the University. Ideal candidates should have leadership and administrative accomplishment in an academic library, with skills in working effectively with faculty, students, staff and others in a collegial, disciplined environment. Experience implementing, migrating and expanding online catalogs and other technologies. Successful project management experience. Successful professional staff development and supervisory experience. Versed in collection development through gifting and purchase. Demonstrated commitment to education and service, including delivering instructional sessions. Familiarity with regional accreditation processes desirable. The applicant must be experientially and theologically committed to the Stone-Campbell faith tradition, and in full agreement with the school’s doctrinal statement.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:<br />
<br />Select books and other library resources for purchase or license • Negotiate agreements with vendors for electronic resources • Structure the library and technology staff to accomplish MACU mission and goals • Build communication among staff and between the library and MACU faculty and administrators • Provide for regular evaluation of the work of each staff member • Develop the skills and expertise of the staff through regular training opportunities • Provide a work environment that results in high staff morale and productivity • Collaborate with faculty on technology in teaching &amp; learning • with faculty and librarians to provide support for distance education and library service to remote users • with faculty on integrating information literacy training into the curriculum • Teach information literacy, library instruction, and methodology course(s) • Provide training opportunities for faculty and librarians • Engage in research, writing, and professional activity that enables the University and the library to stay abreast of current trends in theological librarianship • Guide Library Web content and advise faculty and administration on Web content • Plan for and provide space conducive to the learning needs of users, the preservation and access needs of the physical and digital collections, and the workflow needs of the library staff •Oversee budgetary expenditures.</p>

<br />Position Description:</p>
<p>This is a full-time faculty position, beginning January 1, 2012. Salary is commensurate with experience and degree held at the time of appointment. The faculty member will teach on average 24 undergraduate credit hours an academic year, which includes preparing syllabi, teaching, and evaluating instructional outcomes of assigned courses. The faculty member will serve as the faculty advisor for students in the Worship and Music program. The faculty member will attend committee and faculty meetings, and maintain regular office hours. Full-time faculty are expected to pursue professional development appropriate to the field in which they are hired, in this case worship and music ministry; and be involved in church and community service opportunities.</p>
<p>Qualifications:<br />
<br />Ideal: Ph.D., D.Min., D.W.S., or D.M., or a related academic discipline; teaching experience, and church ministry experience.</p>
<p>Minimum: Masters degree in Music, 5 years church ministry experience, and minimal teaching experience.<br />
<br />The candidate must be able to teach across the wide breadth of worship and music related disciplines (i.e. music theory, music appreciation, worship technology, theology of worship, piano or guitar), and demonstrate currency on issues and trends as they relate to worship and the church.<br />
<br />A high value of Mid-Atlantic Christian University is the practice of ministry. Therefore, the candidate must be one who has proven him/herself in extensive and successful worship and music ministry.</p>
<p>The applicant must be experientially and theologically committed to the Stone-Campbell faith tradition, and in full agreement with the school’s doctrinal statement.</p>
<p>Other Responsibilities:<br />
<br />The candidate must possess a mature Christian faith and be able to demonstrate teaching competence, scholarly ability and be knowledgeable in his/her discipline. One must be able to contribute to the well being and advancement of an academic Christian community by integrating scholarship with the community’s faith tradition. The candidate must be a person of virtuous character and lifestyle who is willing to invest him/herself in the holistic development of students. The candidate must be committed to both ministerial and discipleship training in a Christian college context.</p>

<p>First Christian Church of Chicago is looking for a full-time minister with a concentration in Student Ministries/Worship or Student Ministries/Outreach. Candidates would have a passion for and an ability to relate to a diverse ethnic community in an urban environment, administrative and teambuilding capabilities, and a deepening personal spiritual life and moral integrity. Student Ministries would entail administrative oversight of programming, volunteer coordination, and equipping of students to minister within the larger church family. Worship Leadership includes development of blended Worship which engages a multi-ethnic church, development of Worship Team volunteers, coordination with the Senior Minister, and development of strategic worship events. Outreach would include development of a strategy for evangelism that engages the church in community service, evangelism, guest visitation, and assimilation. The final job description will be built around the qualifications and giftedness of the individual selected for the position. Compensation is competitive.</p>
